Nauta Desig's Southern Wind 102' FARFALLA gained the "Quality " Value" World Superyacht Award 2015.
The winners of the World Superyachts Awards 2015 have been revealed in Amsterdam, during the gala evening on May 9th that attracted the leading superyacht designers, builders and industry members as well as yacht owners.
The prestigious “Quality & Value” Award has been credited to Southern Wind 102’ Farfalla, designed by the trusted team of Nauta Design for the general design, deck and interior design, and Farr Yacht Design for the naval architecture and sail plan.
The highly regarded panel of judges wrote the following verdict: "This attractively priced yacht will provide her owner with the ability to cruise the oceans in comfort and safety, as well as providing him with the option of keenly contested racing. Fully tested before delivery on a 7,000 mile maiden voyage to Europe under sail, Farfalla offers performance, comfort and reliability."
Farfalla, whose name means “butterfly”, stating at the same time beauty and lightness, is the first Raised Saloon version of the SW102 and is built in composite (Carbon fibre, Kevlar and Epoxy resin) sandwich. The new shape of the deckhouse on the Raised Saloon series gives even more elegant lines to the boat outline and a more sporty look.
Notable features of Farfalla, include a spacious flush deck, panoramic windows allowing 270-degree views and ample light in the saloon, a tender garage for a four-metre dinghy, and a mainsail captive winch.
Farfalla left Cape Town at the end of June 2014 to sail the Atlantic Ocean for 7,000 miles from Cape Town to the Med with her own sails, to be delivered to her proud Owner.
